Sex worker visa ban puts women at risk

Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews’ announcement that he will ban working visa for those working in sex related occupations, including lap dancing, regardless of labour shortages in these areas is “an inappropriate and unwelcome entry of morality into the migration area” according to the Women’s Electoral Lobby.

WEL Spokeswoman, Eva Cox, said today:

“Most of these jobs are legal in Australia, and even covered by the Government’s own ‘Welfare to Work’ requirements.
